This is very touching, and I’m not denying that childbirth can be an excruciating process, but there is no such thing as a scientific unit for pain, the main reason being that pain sensation is actually considered a subjective experience. The physiological term for the process of sensing tissue damage is called nociception, and it’s complicated and not fully understood. Additionally, the brain itself is responsible for a great deal of how much pain sensation is either let through or inhibited, so there is no way to quantify how much pain the average birthing process or bone fracture involves. Everyone should still carry on appreciating their mothers, though.
