“Dead bodies are buried under the cherry trees.
You have to believe it. Otherwise, you couldn’t possibly explain the beauty of the cherry blossoms. I was restless, lately, because I couldn’t believe in this beauty. But I have now finally understood: dead bodies are buried under the cherry trees. You have to believe it.”

DO NOT DONATE TO THE RED CROSS. Find another organization to donate to. Not many knew…
Hello to everybody reblogging this: the 9/11 controversy happened years ago under someone who resigned immediately after. The Red Cross of then is not the Red Cross of now. After Healy resigned, out of the $961 million donated to the American Red Cross for 9/11, 96 percent went to victims, hospitals, and immediate disaster relief. The rest went to administration, which is necessary in any huge organization, even nonprofit ones. The American Red Cross and Red Cross chapters throughout the globe do more help than harm.
And about the money going to administrators: I hope the person who posted about 40-50% of their budget going to salaries and administration has a reliable source, because I have consistently seen figures between 8% and 10% (another source), which is normal for a nonprofit organization. (The one I work for allocates about 8% to employee compensation.)
The American Red Cross does more help than harm. Donate to other organizations if you want; just don’t believe everything you read on Tumblr. (I’m not saying what was posted before wasn’t true, but it would help if they provided reliable sources instead of what “a friend of a friend” says.)
